In harsh medical environments, fabrics must have various functions, such as stretchability, odor resistance, water absorption, and antibacterial properties. At the same time, fashionable elements, including luxury and high quality, are also essential. Classico conducts material research and develops fabric to achieve both.

Balancing fashion and durability

Uniforms used in the medical field must be able to withstand intense movement and dirt. Moreover, uniforms often undergo heavy industrial washing at university hospitals. Materials with solely fashion functions will not survive in these environments. Classico aims to balance high quality and comfort with functionality and durability and is developing new materials every day.

Led by Nobuo Ohmameuda, co-founder and experienced cutter and designer at an Italian tailor's workshop, a team of experienced members handles design and pattern making. The designs combine three-dimensional beauty with practicality and comfort, incorporating the highest level of suit-making techniques.

Sewing finished to strict quality standards

Clothing with a delicate design cannot be created without delicate techniques. That is why we carefully select partners who can meet Classico's quality standards. Our designers and production managers have verified all of our current production partners. We continuously work to improve the quality of our partners together.

Product planning that starts with the customer in mind

We thoroughly interview medical professionals about their daily work and identify potential issues that they would like to see addressed, then develop product concepts and functions based on that feedback. At the same time, we incorporate fashion elements such as design and comfort to create medical wear that is both functionally and emotionally beautiful and comfortable, and that motivates people to work.

Since its founding, the signature model “Classico Tailor” has been improved more than 20 times in response to feedback from medical professionals, continuing to evolve. The quality of the fabric, patterns, silhouettes, and other details is reflected in all Classico items, including the “Classico Tailor,” creating long-time users and fans who reminisce about past models.

Our point of view is not only targeted at now but also at the future of our customers. We redefine functionality, design, and comfort, from white coats that have remained unchanged for a long time to patient gowns and stethoscopes. For instance, our breast cancer examination gowns are designed to reduce patients' anxiety and stress during exams. They are made to be stretchy, breathable, and soft to the touch. They also have a design that preserves patients' dignity and provides security.
